The Hess Mobile Museum heads South

December 5, 2014

After several weeks touring the Northeast, Mark and Jamie and the Hess Mobile Museum headed south towards Raleigh, North Carolina to tour the rest of the East Coast.

At Wednesday’s stop in Garner, NC, some Hess fans were very prepared and excited to see the Hess Toy Truck collection: one family came from over two hours away to see Mark and Jamie, and to introduce their newborn baby to the Hess Toy Truck tradition. The family had been collecting Hess trucks since 1982 – and they were very excited to start passing the tradition on by giving their baby a 50th Anniversary Hess Toy Truck and Space Cruiser for Christmas.

Others were pleasantly surprised to see a tour bus, tents, activities and Hess inflatables at their local Hess Express station – “This is unbelievable!” said a fan.  “I’m going to pick up my kids from school and bring them back here with me!”

Sometimes it’s the adult collectors who show the most excitement about the Mobile Museum, but at this stop, kids were the most excited for the holidays and for Hess trucks. One young aspiring painter made six holiday cards for her family at the coloring station while her brothers were enamored with the trucks inside the Museum. Another young fan asked her grandmother to bring her to see the collection – little does she know that her grandmother will surprise her with both of this year’s Hess Toy Trucks on Christmas day!
