More Hess Toy Truck Memories at Disney
December 17, 2014
The Mobile Museum fun continued on the second day of Mark and Jamie’s two-day stop at Downtown Disney® in the Walt Disney World® Resort.
In fact, Mark and Jamie’s tour around the East Coast has been such a success, they are gaining somewhat of a celebrity following! One young fan asked if Mark was one of Santa’s helpers, and she was so excited to experience the museum that she toured it three times.
A family of fans who visited the Hess Express station in Orlando brought another family member – their grandfather – as a special surprise. The grandfather was brought to tears upon remembering the Hess Toy Truck tradition he shared with his own father. He told Mark and Jamie, “So many memories flood in when I see the Hess Mobile Museum. I miss my father every day and he was my best friend before he passed.”
For one couple visiting the museum, the Hess Toy Truck 50th anniversary was especially meaningful. The couple came to Walt Disney World® Resort from Texas to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, and Mark and Jamie learned that they are also big Hess Toy Truck fans and collectors. To this couple, it was perfect to be at the Mobile Museum and at Disney celebrating two different 50th anniversaries, and they were excited to introduce their grandchildren to Hess Toy Trucks for the first time.
Yesterday, Mark and Jamie were at The Falls Mall in Miami to wrap up the Hess Mobile Museum’s tour of the East Coast. Check the blog on Friday to read about how the tour ended and get Mark and Jamie’s highlights from their experience being on tour!
