Mobile Museum A Hit With Collectors in Rochester

November 5, 2014

As the Mobile Museum made its way through the Rochester area this past weekend, hundreds of Hess fans, young and old, came out with their families to share their love for collecting Hess Toy Trucks – many of whom had been introduced to the tradition through their parents or grandparents.

In Henrietta, Mobile Museum tour managers Mark and Jamie spoke to a man who shared that he has been a collector of Hess trucks since his father passed and brought along with him a 2006 Hess Truck mini he had still in the box. He was really excited and grateful for the Mobile Museum, which he said reminded him of his father and the times they shared during the holiday season.

A mother and her son also stopped by the Mobile Museum after pumping gas at the Henrietta Hess Express station. They knew of Hess Toy Trucks and that many people collected them, but had never actually seen one in person. After walking through the Mobile Museum, they were both really impressed with the collection, and the mother purchased a Collector’s Edition Hess Toy Truck for her son. They are now going to try and start their own collection!

In Farmington, a man drove two hours just to see the Mobile Museum. He has been a collector since he was a child, thanks to his aunt. He and his wife are bigger fans now more than ever of Hess Toy Truck and look forward to giving one to their children every year.

A 10-year-old boy shared that he had the full collection of Hess Toy Truck from 1977 and up. He has grown his collection by searching online and traveling to flea markets and auctions with his family to get them!
