The Hess Mobile Museum Debuts at The Strong!
November 3, 2014
Last Saturday, the Hess Toy Truck Mobile Museum made its debut at The Strong in Rochester, NY! Despite inclement weather, more than 1,000 fans, collectors, and visitors came out to enjoy a fun day commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hess Toy Truck.
Mobile Museum tour hosts Mark and Jamie spoke to a number of long-time collectors who shared their stories and traditions. One grandfather commented, “I have all trucks since ’72 up to now. I buy one every year for myself and two for my grandkids. They look forward to it now every year just as much as I do!”
Another enthusiastic collector made a discovery while browsing and learning more about all the trucks in the Mobile Museum, “I never realized until now, 12 years later, that the truck I own expands into a satellite! I can’t wait to get home and try it after all of these years!”
The Mobile Museum launch also inspired new fans, including a mother and father who bought their first Hess truck ever for their two-year-old daughter because they loved the story and history behind Hess Toy Truck.
Young fans enjoyed the Kids’ Zone outside of the Mobile Museum, which included fun games and activities, and where one lucky little boy won the official 50th anniversary holiday toy truck – the 2014 Hess Toy Truck and Space Cruiser with Scout.
The Mobile Museum also made stops at the Hess Express stations in Henrietta and Farmington, NY yesterday and will continue to make its way through New York with stops in the Albany-Schenectady area. Please join the Hess Mobile Museum at these upcoming stops this week:
