Picture this: Dad gives you a soft nudge to wake you up early on Thanksgiving Day. While half in a dozing daze, you follow dad to the car and head over to your local Hess to stand in line. The weather is cold, but dad has a thermos of hot chocolate to keep you warm. Waiting in line, sipping hot chocolate – it’s all part of the special bonding time you get with dad every year in the moments before the Hess Toy Truck goes on sale. Those moments are the Hess Toy Truck history. That’s the history of many of our fans – either as the dad or the boy in this scene who may very well be a dad by now.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, it is the time of year to show your affection to your loved ones and likewise we wanted to express our love to all of our Fans. This month’s blog shares some special moments on how fans like yourself have lovingly invited Hess into your families. Thank you all for being our special someone this month and all year long!
We want to start by wishing all of our fans a very Happy 2016! As we turn the page on a new year, every January we reflect on the most recent holiday season, which, of course, is our favorite time of year because…well, we get to spend it with YOU! All year long, we work towards creating a unique toy truck that both our long time dedicated fans and the newest tikes joining our fandom can enjoy during the holiday season.
Today we’re excited to announce that we have officially sold out of the 2015 Hess Fire Truck and Ladder Rescue! We’re thrilled that you love the Hess Fire Truck and Ladder Rescue as much as we do.
After 20 years of buying Hess Toy Trucks at gas stations for their kids, Richard and Mary Simon weren’t about to end their tradition just because the Hess gas station near their East Brunswick, NJ, home closed recently. So when their daughter told them about a new way to shop in-person for their beloved toy, by going to one of 10 kiosks at malls in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, they knew they’d found an easy way to keep up their decades-long tradition. The Simons went to the kiosk at Woodbridge Center mall on Friday where they bought two trucks, one for their 40-year-old daughter and one for their 38-year-old son, which they will give to them on Thanksgiving as they have done for the past couple of decades.
